William James Wann William
James Wann, son of John and Eleanor Wann of markethill seems to hve
been known also by his middle name, James. Another of the sons of John
and Eleanor Wann was named William Wann so it is possible that William
James became James to distinguish betweeen the two brothers. The name was entered as James Wann on the marriage register when in 1851 - James Wann married Amanda Wilhelmina Antoinette Selss at the Parish Church in Mullabrack, County Armagh. Amanda Selss was from Coesfield, Westphalia in Germany. Brothers William Wann and Thomas Wann were witnesses. At
the time of his marriage in 1851 William James wann was living in the
Parish of Arney, County Cavan and he was a clerk in the Ulster Bank.
In 1854 he was appointed as Manager of the Ulster Bank. Newspapers in
County Cavan show his name as James Wann in notices of his marriage
and of the birth of two of his daughters, one in 1856, the other in
1862. Eugene William Wann
born 1859 Amanda Wann (nee
Selss) died in 1899. The date of William James Wann's death is not known. Copyright |
